Here, at last, is a journal following evidence, wherever it leads. Meanwhile in Europe, Lisa Müller takes us into Germany’s sports arena, where the new Self-ID Act is wreaking havoc. In this latest “Dispatch from Deutschland,” Müller exposes shameful parallels with the doping scandals of East Germany’s past.

In videos, we’re pleased to crosspost two terrific episodes of Beyond Gender. First, Stella O’Malley and Mia Hughes speak with Carrie Clark of Genspect UK about the UK’s new Puberty Blocker Trial. Clark insists that, with 25 years of evidence exposing the harms of puberty blockers and the Cass Review’s urgent cautions against the use of puberty blockers, there are no excuses for holding a trial that bypasses science and makes guinea pigs of children.

In the second episode, Stella O’Malley and Bret Alderman speak with James Linehan, who was born with a rare disorder that prevented his body from naturally maturing; he remained stuck in a childlike state long after his peers grew up. He speaks about his experience and what it really means when modern medicine intentionally blocks puberty in gender-questioning youth.

Welcome to this week’s collection of stories and updates. But first, we are thrilled to announce the official launch of Genspect Ireland. There is a lot of work to be done in Ireland, but if you are a regular reader of Inspecting Gender, you will know that the vibe shift sweeping the world has made its way to Éire. This week Sara Morrison, the director of Gespect Ireland shares the story of how she became the subject of a witch hunt and why Genspect’s mission is so important to her. Meanwhile David Allison reports from Germany on the new S2k German-language guideline on Gender Incongruence and Gender Dysphoria. If you have been following along with Inspecting Gender’s regular series, Dispatches from Deutschland, you will know that all is not well. The ongoing theme of decisions outpacing evidence pops up again in Allison’s latest piece. This is no accident, as we learned in yesterday’s MCC Brussels event, “Does gender self-identification threaten women’s rights and child safety?” Stella O’Malley joined Faika El-Nagashi and Ashley Frawley to trace Europe’s descent into gender ideology at the hands of the EU and NGOs.

Back across the pond, Genspect USA are relaxing (just a little) following the success of Detrans Awareness Day 2025. In what felt like a breakthrough moment, detransitioners took center stage at the nation’s Capitol. In addition to holding a successful briefing, detransitioners met with Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, Education Secretary Linda McMahon and Andrew Guernsey of the Department of Health and Human Services. Finally, seven congressmen from the House of Representatives launched HR224 expressing support for the recognition of "Detransition Awareness Day".

As Genspect USA’s Director, Jennifer Lahl put it, “We came, We saw. We conquered!” And there’s more to come!

Countdown to Detrans Awareness Day

In just over a week on March 12, 2025, Genspect hosts a landmark Detrans Awareness Day on Capitol Hill. This is a unique opportunity for lawmakers to sit face-to-face with detransitioners, medical experts, and advocates where policy takes shape. The agenda includes everything from medical harm and social contagion to litigation and the pressing needs of those who regret gender care, all grounded in accounts of their personal experiences. By considering science, law, and culture, we hope to amplify the voices, and the experiences of detransitioners at the highest levels of government. This event has been a long time coming, we are thrilled to watch it unfold!

What Is Happening—and Why It Matters

This week Genspect UK director Carrie Clark slams the NHS’s puberty blocker trial in "Detransitioners Deserve to Be Heard," spotlighting detransitioners dealing with the life altering effects of blockers and hormones such as: osteoporosis, sexual dysfunction, and unmet mental health needs. She terms it a 15-year unchecked experiment that betrays its casualties.

In "Nottingham Catholic Schools’ Healthy Approach to Sex and Gender" we learn how the Diocese of Nottingham’s 84 schools reject affirmation for compassion, using a Cass Review-rooted guide that prioritizes holistic care and legal clarity over ideology.
