Amen to that. A rather monstrous premise, a rather big Big Lie at the heart of it, that one can change the sex of some "gender non-conforming" children.

Seems rather contradictory at best. You yourself accept the view -- a fairly common and well-justified one -- that the "transgender child" is simply an "extremely gender non-conforming one" without that obliging you to "accept the validity of such a trial". For evidence of that view, see:

Though that has been something of a common and popular misperception going back 75 years or more to the "sex change operations" of Christine Jorgensen and his tribe:

I guess "adults" are entitled to delude themselves that way, though not if it is to mislead or defraud other people.
But to trick children into believing that Big Lie? The crime and medical scandal of the century.
