Thank you for your work on this very important topic. My daughter was 17 when she decided she was trans. She was no tomboy growing up - she was the girliest of princess-loving girls. She was influenced by depression, developed anorexia, and a hatred of her body. In a very vulnerable place she was heavily influenced by others at her eating disorder clinic and on social media to believe she must be trans. Later, she stated she thought she was autistic and demanded an assessment. As a special education teacher with years of experience working with kids who have autism, I told her she absolutely did not have it and no, we would not be paying for an evaluation. I am thankful every day that, after several years living in this delusion, she no longer identifies as trans.

"In today’s world, the biggest danger to children’s physical and psychological wellbeing is still adults, but not the ones driving around in vans looking for little girls walking to school on their own. No, today’s children are in severe danger every time they go to school, or present to their doctors or therapists, not to mention their very own parents if they fail to conform to some idealized version of gender that matches their sex." https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-parents

It is never kind to lie to your children about something as important as their embodied reality:
