Are We There Yet?
In a year marked by significant progress in curbing reckless medical interventions and policies that undermine the rights of women and girls, the recent announcement that 10 major hospitals will no longer offer gender transition procedures for minors represents a unique opportunity for America and the rest of the world. Yes, this disruption to the trans pipeline provides help for parents and distressed children at risk of becoming swept into the rapid progression of gender-related medical interventions.
Yes, it is an opportunity for professionals to reassess their practices as the flaws in previously trusted standards are revealed. But just as importantly, it is an opportunity to look into some of the deeper questions surrounding the rise of trans ideology — because it is only by understanding how we got here that we can begin to move forward with solutions.
Consider the Bigger Picture
The Genspect Bigger Picture Conference taking place in Albuquerque on September 27–28, 2025, is the perfect opportunity to take stock with parents, professionals, activists, and concerned citizens grappling with the ‘big picture’ question of how to fix our broken culture. That’s why, in addition to welcoming leading lights like Lisa Littman, Abigail Shrier, and Stella O’Malley, we will be joined by speakers from a variety of backgrounds — all with their fingers on the cultural pulse.
Gender or Identity?
We start on Saturday with Developmental psychologist Dr. JD Haltigan for a session on The Unstable Self and Fractured Identities: Personality Fragmentation in the Digital World to ask why are today’s young people so uniquely vulnerable to transgender ideology? How does the digital world, with its social media echo chambers and viral trends, amplify gender confusion and distress? Is the core issue truly about gender, or is it indicative of a broader struggle to form a stable adult identity in a fragmented cultural landscape?
Dr. Haltigan will dissect the cultural and psychological forces driving trans identification and offer his insights into how digital environments and psychological vulnerabilities are fueling this phenomenon. He will also touch on the role of mental health issues and personality disorders in creating our current situation.
Manufactured Consent and the Flight From Normal
On Sunday, we’re delighted to welcome Jennifer Sey of XX-XY Athletics, Adam Coleman of Wrong Speak Publishing, and author Logan Lancing.
Jennifer Say’s talk, Manufacturing Consensus: How Corporations Shape Cultural Norms, looks at how corporations like Nike and apparel brands like Calvin Klein’s “queered” their brands and left consumers behind. “This is just how it is now.”
Logan Lancing, co-author of "The Queering of the American Child," will speak about how schools and cultural institutions are attempting to reengineer social norms in The War on Normal, and Adam Coleman joins us explore the impact of disrupted social norms on kids in his talk, How Our Culture Hurts Our Children — and what we can do about it.
What’s Civilization Got to Do With It?
Finally, we are beyond thrilled to welcome author and journalist Lionel Shriver for a conversation, Beyond Pronouns: Civilisation, Sanity, and the Trans Debate. Shriver is the author of numerous books and articles, including her latest dystopian novel, Mania, inspired by “the 21st century’s many conformist social hysterias”.
