The Best of Genspect: Detrans Awareness on Capitol Hill — "Gender Medicine"
Doctors and detransitioners on the false promises and harms of medical transition
This week, The Best of Genspect presents the first of four panels from Detrans Awareness Day on Capitol Hill, held on March 12, 2025.
“Doctors and Detransitioner Blow the Whistle on Gender Medicine,” moderated by Dr. Jay Richards, featured pediatrician Patrick Hunter, M.D., plastic surgeon Patrick Lappert, M.D., general surgeon Eithan Haim, M.D., and detransitioner Forrest Smith. They shared their insights as medical professionals and, in the case of Forrest Smith, as someone who underwent such an intervention, exploring the health damage caused by these procedures and the difficult realities detransitioners face as they navigate life afterward. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out this recorded discussion for a candid perspective on an issue that deserves more attention.
